A confidential Domaine, exceptional white wines

A generous row of vines in spring. Bunch of grapes in flower. View of the village of Puligny-Montrachet below.

As with all the great white wines of Burgundy, we grow white grapes from Chardonnay. Only a small plot of 5.5 “ouvrées” is cultivated with “Aligoté” to produce this white wine of the same name, found only in Burgundy.

Some of these plots have belonged to the Moingeon family for generations.

The others were acquired and planted by Claude-Clair and Yveline Gacon-Moingeon some forty years ago, in accordance with local traditions. These successive plantings over the decades have made the Domaine a “living” estate. In 2024, 2 new plots of white Burgundy were added to the Domaine: Les Bergeries and Les Près-La-dame.

In Burgundy, the vineyards are fragmented. The wines come from a specific place, a parcel of vines: “les Climats”, the very essence of the Burgundy model.

From growing the vines to making the wine, the Domaine’s philosophy is to rely on traditional know-how while improving the various processes in line with developments in technical knowledge and the changing climate.

You will find below our plots identified on the map of the “Climats” of Puligny Montrachet and Saint-Aubin
