Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru
“Les Folatières”
One of Puligny’s most racy and fine Premier Crus.
This “Premier Cru” takes its name from the patches of fog – known locally as ‘follots’ – that sometimes appear here.
The steeply exposed altitude and poor limestone soil, where the bedrock outcrops, produce a rich, opulent wine with great vivacity. A 40-year-old vine and an older one, ideally located at the heart of this exceptional appellation, harmoniously combine maturity and finesse.
Between 1 and 2 pieces of this grand 1er cru are vinified each year at the Domaine (especially for our customers).
The nose develops scents of acacia, almonds and white flowers, revealing aromas of ripe white fruit and hazelnuts, accompanied by light notes of honey.
Round and smooth on the palate, with ripe fruit flavours and a hint of oak. The finish is underpinned by a saline minerality.
