Saint-Aubin 1er cru

Saint-Aubin 1er cru

This climate lies beneath the great rocky and limestone fault that runs through the Montrachet.

The parcel faces due south-west, between Saint-Aubin and Puligny-Montrachet, on this slope close to Montrachet with white pebbly limestone soil. This is the site of the Gamay hamlet which gives its name to this “Premier Cru”.

We have a great affinity with this somewhat more discreet appellation, which produces some very fine white wines, sometimes described as feminine, and of a similar standard to Puligny and Chassagne.

The colour is pale yellow and limpid.

When young, the nose combines aromas of white flowers, flint and green almonds. With age, it is enriched by notes of honey and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, well-balanced and has the fine length of a 1er cru.

This is a wine that is both complex and charming.
